Do I have a WiFi modlet or a Zigbee Modlet?

WiFi modlets communicate directly with WiFi network in your home or office. Zigbee modlets require and Ethernet Gateway to communicate with the internet.

Differences:
  • WiFi modlets have a WiFi MAC address on the back of the modlet. If you don't see a WiFi MAC address on the back of your modlet that means you have a Zigbee modlet.
  • Zigbee modlets require an Ethernet gateway, if you have an Ethernet gateway it will need to be plugged into your router to connect to the internet.
  • mymodlet.com accounts will display an [ADD GATEWAY] button on the Modlet Network tab if you have a Zigbee modlet. If you don't see the [ADD GATEWAY] button you have WiFi modlet and you do not require a gateway.
