Set up an Ethernet Gateway

The Ethernet gateway communicates with the modlets in your home/office using the Zigbee wireless protocol. The gateway uses the internet connection in your home/office to communicate with the ThinkEco cloud so you can monitor and control your devices from your computer, tablet or ThinkEco smartAC app.

  1. Log in to your account on

  2. Select the Modlet Network tab.

  3. Select the [ADD GATEWAY] button.

  4. Follow the onscreen instructions to enter the Zigbee MAC address that displays on the back of the Gateway.

  5. Plug the Ethernet cable into an open port on the back of your router, plug the other end of the cable into the WAN port of your Ethernet Gateway.

  6. Plug the power cable into the power port of your Ethernet Gateway and the other end into an outlet.

  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to search for your gateway.

  8. When the gateway is found, enter a name, click [NEXT] to go to the Add Modlet screen.

TIP: If the gateway is not found, unplug the network cable from the back of your router and plug it into a different numbered port on the back of your router. Unplug the gateway power cord and then plug it back in so the gateway reboots and then try these steps again.

TIP: If you get an error at Step 8 that the gateway did not save, go to the Modlet Network tab and select Gateways from the left navigation. If you see your gateway was indeed saved you can ignore the error and continue adding a modlet.
